The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, has issued an administrative order to expand the requirement for e-Filing.
Effective October 1, 2012, the Court is ordering that all papers filed in actions designated Auto Tort or Other PI/PD/WDD (Personal Injury/Property Damage/Wrongful Death) must be filed electronically.
This expands the Orange County Court’s previous mandate requiring e-Filing for Civil Complex cases as well as cases concerning all Breach of Contract cases.
The Orange County Court is taking action in response to the budget cuts that have been imposed on the California Judicial Branch by the Governor and the Legislature. Court administrator’s estimate that they save at least $2 for every document that is e-Filed. The Courts expansion of e-Filing allows them to increase the Court’s efficiency and get more done with its very limited resources.
