Where do California courts announce closures and filing changes?

On their own websites. Each superior court posts news releases and public notices, and many also post notices to attorneys about courtroom moves, filing location changes, and e-filing updates. This page links to the news pages of the state's largest courts. For any other county, start at the court's home page, which you can find through the Judicial Council's list of all 58 superior courts on our California court resources page.

Can I get court notices by email?

Some courts offer it. Los Angeles, Riverside, and Sacramento superior courts have email sign-ups, Sacramento also offers text alerts, and the Central and Southern Districts of California send news by email. The links are on this page.

What is an RSS feed?

A web address that lists a site's newest posts so a feed reader can check it for you. Most of the superior courts on this page publish one. Add the feed link to a feed reader, or to the classic version of Outlook for Windows, and new court notices appear there as they are posted.

Does a court notice change where we should file?

Sometimes. Courts move case types between courthouses and update filing locations by ZIP code. When we file for you, our team checks the court's current filing rules for each case.
