LATEST CALIFORNIA COURT NEWS

12-06-24: Ventura Court. Effective 12-09-24, Electronic Filing is permitted for Unlimited and Limited Civil, Probate and Small Claims Case Types.

11-26-24: Temecula Courthouse. The Riverside Superior Court is closing the Temecula Courthouse, located at 41002 County Center Drive, #100, as of December 23, 2024.

07-01-24: Pasadena Courthouse judicial assignment change. Effective September 6, 2024, the Family Law Division will implement the following change to courtroom operations: Judge Joel L. Lofton will be assigned to Department L at the Pasadena Courthouse. All matters
previously assigned to Department L will be assigned to Judge Lofton for all purposes, unless
otherwise notified.

07-01-24: Superior Court of Los Angeles county to reduce staff positions in response to significant state budget cuts which will result in a reduction in services. A voluntary separation incentive program launching today offers payment incentives for eligible employees to vacate current positions to reduce ongoing operating expenses.

06-14-24: Chatsworth Courthouse. Effective June 24, 2024, the Family Law Division at the Chatsworth Courthouse will implement the following change to courtroom operations: Commissioner Sonia B. Dujan will be assigned to Department F48 at the Chatsworth Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department F48 will be assigned to Commissioner Dujan for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

06-12-24: Stanley Mosk courthouse. Updated remote hearings platform pilot to launch in select probate courtrooms in Stanley Mosk courthouse beginning July 1. The Court will pilot LACourtConnect (LACC) 3.0, a new version of the Court’s remote courtroom appearance technology, in select probate courtrooms at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse for attorneys and litigants who wish to appear remotely.

04-17-24 Torrance Courthouse. Effective April 9, 2024, the Family Law Division has implemented the following change to courtroom operations at the Torrance Courthouse located at 825 Maple Ave., Torrance: Judge Gary C. Eto has been assigned to Department H at the Torrance Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department H have been assigned to Judge Eto for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

04-08-24: Stanley Mosk Courthouse Family Law Division. Effective April 8, 2024, the Family Law Division implemented the following change to courtroom operations at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse located at 111 N. Hill St, Los Angeles: Judge Melanie Ochoa has been assigned to Department 13 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 13 have been assigned to Judge Ochoa for all purposes,
unless otherwise notified.

02-29-24: Stanley Mosk Courthouse Family Law Division. Effective March 29, 2024, the Family Law Division has implemented the following change to courtroom operations: Commissioner Hillary Gerber has been reassigned from Department 8 to Department 46 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 46 have been assigned to Commissioner Gerber for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

02-22-24: Superior Court of Los Angeles. Effective Monday, February 26, motion reservations in all civil matters will be cancelled if motion documents are not submitted within three (3) court days of the date when the reservation was made in the Court Reservation System (CRS). The change is required to improve the timely processing and hearing of motions in the Court’s Civil Division.

01-31-24: Superior Court of Los Angeles new electronic filing procedure for proposed orders in civil division cases effective February 5 in accordance with California Rule of Court 3.1312 (c) all parties electronically filing (efiling) proposed orders for Civil Division cases, except for small claims cases, must submit the proposed order as both a Portable Document File (PDF) and as a separate editable word-processing file, such as a Microsoft Word document.

12-15-23: Stanley Mosk Courthouse Family law judicial assignment change. Effective December 11, 2023: Commissioner Philip Peng has been reassigned to Department 41 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

12-14-32: Superior Court of Los Angeles county’s civil division to implement new filing procedures for personal injury cases in the central district. New filing procedures take effect January 8, 2024

10-09-23: CSC-Lawyers Incorporating Service, located at 2710 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 150N, Sacramento, CA 95833-3505, will now close at 2pm daily. Please see attached notice. Our cut off time for same day rush serves at CSC-Lawyers will now be 12pm in order to get the documents printed and served prior to 2pm.

08-16-23: ALAMEDA COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT Attorneys will be encouraged to begin e-filing on September 5, 2023. Mandatory usage will not occur until October 23, 2023. The final day to fax file documents will be September 1, 2023.

08-16-23: LAKE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT Unfortunately, Lake County Court has pushed back its eFiling launch from late February 2023 to later this year. No further details about case types or mandate dates are available, but as always, we will keep you updated.

12-8-22: LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT FAMILY LAW DIVISION ANNOUNCES COURTROOM CHANGES AT STANLEY MOSK – Judge Shelley Kaufman will be reassigned to Dept. 2, and Judge Amy M. Pellman will be reassigned from Dept. 2 to Dept. 18 effective 12-12-2022.

11-15-22: LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT FAMILY LAW DIVISION ANNOUNCES COURTROOM CHANGES AT STANLEY MOSK – Judge Patricia Young Judge Patricia Young is reassigned to Dept. 88, and Judge Adrian Gidaya Roxas is assigned to Dept. 13

05-12-22: LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT – NEW LACOURTCONNECT FEATURES LAUNCHING MAY 13 FOR PROBATE; JUNE 3 FOR CIVIL, FAMILY LAW AND TRAFFIC

05-11-22: IMPERIAL COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT — AS OF MAY 24, EFILING FOR CIVIL COURT WILL BE AVAILABLE. EFILING WILL BE MANDATORY.

05-11-22: CONTRA COSTA SUPERIOR COURT — EFFECTIVE JULY 25, EFILING FOR PROBATE COURT WILL BE AVAILABLE. EFILING WILL BE PERMISSIVE.
