When Courtesy Copies are Necessary:


Local Rules:
Each court has its own specific regulations outlining when courtesy copies must be submitted. Typically, these copies are required for documents that necessitate judicial review, action, or a signature.

This includes: Motions Pleadings Demurrers Orders Judgments Complex or Lengthy Documents. Certain courts may mandate courtesy copies for documents that surpass a specific page count (for instance, 26 pages in Los Angeles Superior Court) or for those that include exhibits and attachments.

How to Submit Courtesy Copies:


Delivery Deadline:
Courtesy copies usually need to be delivered by a designated time on the day following electronic filing. Deadlines might vary for urgent matters.

Delivery Method: You have the option to deliver courtesy copies in person, via mail, or through a third-party service. Some courts may have particular preferences or restrictions regarding delivery methods.

Priority

Priority service means that our Court Runner will submit your filing to the court by the next business day if received by the cutoff time.

Urgent

Urgent service means that our Court Runner will submit your filing to the court the same day if received by the cutoff time.

On Demand

On Demand service means that our Court Runner will submit your filing to the court the same day within 2 hours of the order being placed or ASAP, if received by the cutoff time during business hours. After the cutoff, delivery time varies by availability.

For court filing orders and other court services, our deadlines are determined by two factors: 1) When the court closes and 2) The filing size of the order (# of pages). Generally, our deadline is between 1:30PM and 3:00PM Pacific Time for central courts in larger counties and between 9:00AM and 2:00PM Pacific Time for counties or branch courts in outlying areas.
