David Kern, President and SVP of Operations

Third Generation in the Business

David joined Direct Legal in 2012 and has worked in every part of the business, including the court, process service, and skip tracing departments. He graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2017.

As President and SVP of Operations, David oversees:

• Client requests and new accounts. From the first call to the first completed order.
• Process serving. Our process service department and the registered process servers who carry out service.

Building Our E-Recording Network

In 2020, David set up Direct Legal's electronic recording connections with California county recorders. The network now covers 47 of the state's 58 counties. It started during the COVID-19 pandemic, when most county recorder offices were closed to the public, and it gave law firms a way to keep recording deeds, liens, and abstracts of judgment without a trip to the counter.
